STOP CORONAVIRUS RUMORS, UGANDA IS A PROVERB IN FIGHTING PANDEMICS, SUDHIR’S RUPARELIA GROUP CLARIFIES RUMORS ON ONE OF THE TENANT ON THEIR PROPERTY IN KAMPALA WHO WAS RECENTLY IN CHINA

A proverb is a short sentence based on long experience- Miguel Cervantes said. Uganda’s Ministry of Health has been credited for fighting pandemics over the years though they rarely take credit.
Emmanuel Ainebyoona, Senior Public Relations Officer Ministry of Health has asked Ugandans to be calm as there’s no case of COVID19 reported.
Royal Plaza a building owned by Sudhir’s Ruparelia group down town Kampala usually has customers that come to buy different machadise but a rumor about one of their tenants said to have contracted coronavirus has sent prospective customers away.
Prabhat Mishra, General Manager at Crane Management Services Limited which manages several properties owned by Sudhir’s Ruparelia Group says none of their tenants is ill from COVID19 though fears gripped the business community down town Kampala.
Thanks to the Ministry of Health Surveillance teams which rushed to Royal Plaza with a vehicle and ambulance belonging to Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) to approach the said premises.
Upon reaching the said room, a lady occupant revealed that she was undergoing self-quarantine as any other person who has just returned from the flagged high risk countries with the COVID-19 pandemic.
The team’s assessment found out this lady had no signs and symptoms but recommended she completes her period of self-quarantine . They will continue monitoring her until when she gets a certificate of completing Self-quarantine.
The Infectious Diseases Institute has since reiterated that it didn’t evacaute any suspected patient from downtown, Kampala. The Ministry of Health has not registered any case of COVID-19.

Many countries across the globe are hurting economically after COVID19 spread from China. Uganda which has battled HIV/AIDS when there was no medicine is credited by many countries and World Health Organisation.
President Yoweri Museveni said Uganda has gone through bigger tests as a country and have emerged victorious. We fought AIDS by behavior even before we got medicine. We battled and defeated Ebola.
“I call upon all Ugandans to join in the fight against Coronavirus even before it gets here. Avail yourself for examination at the airport if you are inbound from any of the countries where Coronavirus has been recorded”.
He said its is not a must that we must shake hands. It is important that we limit conditions that will facilitate the spread of Coronavirus.
“Those with specific symptoms similar to those of Coronavirus, please self-isolate and seek medical guidance and confirmation that you are free from infection”.
Hon Ruth Jane Aceng, Minister of health said the Ministry received an alert of a COVID-19 suuspected case in downtown Kampala and established that she was under mandatory sel quarantine upon returning from a high risk country.
“She did not exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 but required to complete self quarantine of 14 days. Uganda has NO case of COVID-19”.
Dr Diana Atwine, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health has called upon the private sector to actively be involved in prevention of this disease by putting in place the basic mitigating measures at their work places.
