Son beheads mother over land sharing

Police in Rwampara district are investigating two murder cases one of which involved   family land conflicts between mother and son.

Local security sources reported to police in  the morning of Friday August 30,  2019 that at around 8:30 am Arthur Baryamwijuka 45 years beheaded her biological mother Mpiirirwe Juliana ,65 years for refusing to share land and be able to sell his.

The fatal incident happened in Buhama cell Nyabikungu Parish Rugando sub county. The locals have since mobilised  themselves to hunt Arthur Baryamwijuka to face Justice. He is believed to have taken into hiding himself in the Bugamba Forest reserve in Rwampara hills.

Baryamwijua is alleged to have used a sharp panga to kill his mather and was it was found at the scene of the crime.

The body of the deceased was examined by medical doctor together with police at the crime scene and later taken to her home in Buhama cell and is awaiting  burial.

In a related incident Rwampara police have in custody a 38 years old woman suspected to have taken part in the murder of a school night watch man at Rwemiyenje Primary School.

The suspect was identified by the police as Peace Bogere a business woman operatorating a bar in Rwemiyeje Village in Rwampara district.

It is allegedly that on the fateful night of  August 27, 2019 unknown assailants murdered Desire Mugyenyi in cold blood while at his work place, he was found asleep in classroom.

Mugyenyi had a deep cut in the head, neck and deeply knifed in both ears. Samson Kasasira the Rwizi regional police spokesperson said the arrest of Peace came after the teacher of Rwemiyenje Primary school reported murder case to Rwampara police forcing the police rush to the scene of crime with its sniffer dog.

Kasasira said the sniffer dog led the police to the bar of Bogere Peace leading to her arrest. He noted that the suspect is now held at Rwampara police station as investigations in the matter are underway.

However local security intelligence suspect the students of Rugando Institute to be behind the motive for sometime back the security guard had arrest and assaulted one of their student for criminal trespass.
