On wednesday 3rd September 2019, the different Honourable Members of the August House introduced 26 constitutional amendments including the reinstatement of presidential term limits. Minister Kasaija objected the motion basing on the fact that the Attorney general was absent and requested the motion to be moved to next week on Tuesday.
The motion was seconded by Hon.Aol Ocan , the leader of Opposition in Parliament. The Deputy Speaker requested all th concerned ministries to support the constitutional aendement bill drafting.
However, this was rejected by the pro amendment members including Minister Sekikubo Theodore how claimed that this amendment was a private member bill. The house later granted Nuwagaba leave to introduce the bill titled, ” The constitution Amendment Bill 2019.”
