President Museveni has vowed to apprehend the killers of Maria Nagirinya and Ronald Kitayimbwa in a telephone call to the late’s father.
“The president expressed dismay and told me he directed his security commanders to quickly apprehend the killers. He has also promised to send Shs10m as condolences,” Nagirinya’s father Francis Lubowa said during a requiem mass at St Peters Church, Nsambya on Sunday.
Mr Lubowa said her daughter did not deserve dying like a thief. Post mortem showed her head was smashed causing multiple skull fractures.
Dr Mukwaya, the director of Nsambya General Hospital and a family member, said that security services need to upgrade their crime intelligence and better their public relations.
The church was been filled to capacity and a somber mood filled the mourners who often waved the fliers with Nagirinya photo.
Nagirinya was abducted on Wednesday night from the gate of her home in Lungujja Busega Community Zone, a Kampala suburb on Friday, her body and that of Ronald Kitayimbwa were found in Nakituruli, six kilometres from Mukono Town on Kayunga road, in Mukono District.
The executive director of CIDI, Fulugensio Jjuko said the deceased was a diligent servant ready to take on all forms of tasks. She was the head of CIDI’s Lubaga and Nakawa water programs.
