Muhammad Kirumira commemorated by family amid bitterness

The family of deceased former Buyende District DPC, Muhammad Kirumira yesterday commemorated the death of their beloved son who shot in cold blood on September 8, 2018.

The vocal police officer who was endeared by many for his role in exposing the dirt in police under the Kayihura era as Inspector General of Police left a big hole in the hearts of his family.

According to his father Abubaker Kawooya, Kirumira was never the same after the Flying Squad raided his home in Bulenga, 2018.

“My son lost his life the day Flying Squad raided his home in 2018,” said a broken hearted Kawooya at the commemoration yesterday.

Latif Sebagala, the Member of Parliament for Kawempe North justified the deceased’s outcry for crime within the police being the cause of insecurity in Uganda.

“A year on from his death, what do we see? There are more murders in the city than when he was alive. You and I are not safe,” said Sebagala.

Meanwhile, Sarah Nakimbowa the widow of the deceased says the deceased’s family has been neglected by government.
