KABAROLE: THURSDAY, JANUARY 06, 2022

The Kabarole District Covid-19 task-force has resolved not to allow non-vaccinated teaching and non-teaching staff in schools when they reopen next week on January 10th.

“When our schools reopen on Monday next week, we shall not allow non-vaccinated teachers and non-teaching staff in schools, because we don’t want to risk our children’s lives,” emphasized Sarah Ayesiga, the Resident district commissioner.

She was briefing school head teachers from Kabarole at the district headquarters as part of the final preparations to reopen the schools.

Ayesiga directed that all teachers must carry their vaccination cards to school and give a photocopy to be filed by the head teacher.

The RDC said these measures apply to both private and government owned schools.

Ayesiga added that effective next week they will not be allowing non-vaccinated civil servants to access their offices at district headquarters in Kitumba.

The District Chairperson, Richard Rwabuhinga, advised teachers to use the first week to orient their students and pupils after a long period of staying at home.

He strongly warned teachers to desist from the temptation of trying to forge the Covid-19
Vaccination Cards.

Vaccinations cards are issued free of charge as soon as a person is inoculated with an approved Covid-19 vaccine, which in Uganda are the AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Sinovac, Moderna, Sinopham and the Johnson and Johnson.
