Rt Hon Rebecca Kadaga, Speaker of Parliament and Woman MP Kamuli district has suspended campaigns after her Colleague MP representing Kamuli Municipality, Hon Hajjat Rehema Watongola died suddenly.

“Owing to the sudden death of Hon Rehema Tiwuwe Watongola, i have suspended my campaign until further notice. May her soul rest in eternal peace.

Hon Hajjat Rehema joins other high profile Ugandans that have succumbed to COVID19 that has claimed 144 Ugandans and close to 16,000 have tested positive.
Panic has gripped Busoga region especially Kamuli District where the fallen Legislator was hailing from. Authorities and residents of Kamuli District want to get details of her death and if its Covid-19 they want to know whether there is a spike in community infections.

Results of 1st November 2020, 227 contacts and alerts were named and Kamuli distict reported one case: Kampala (126), Buikwe (21), Wakiso (12),Soroti (8), Mityana (7), Mbale (6), Kasese (6), Isingiro (6), Mayuge (6), Jinja (11), Busia (5), Ntungamo (2), Kabarole (2), Kamuli (1), Bundibugyo (1), Masaka (1), Kaberamaido (1), Tororo (1), Moroto (1), Nebbi (1)
In the last two weeks, Kamuli district has reported only one case but the Ministry of Health will give statement.

The number of Covid19 patients in the sub region have increased around Jinja district only while Mayuge and Iganga districts have reported small numbers.
Ministry of Health has continued to ask Ugandans not to abandon the preventive measures put in place to control the spread of the virus.
