Traders of Kabagarame pork market Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality have have demonstrated against the sale of their market. The traders moved from the market located about 2 km for the towm centre they moved through town to present their petition to Municipal authorities in the council hall.
This comes on the heels of the Speaker of parliament Rebbeca Kadaga who directed the Attorney general and the ministry of finance to quickly study the matters relating to the sale of Kabagarame pork Market in Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality.
Her directive came on August 28 2019 following the submission made by the area MP Gordon Arinda on the floor parliament in regard to the matter.
Arinda during the plenary on August 27, he told the house that over 1500 women are in a panic to be evicted from that market following the advert that was put in newspapers by Best Associated Auctioneers and Court Bailiffs on the directive of Mbarara high court registrar Amos Kwizera.
It directs the bailiffs that within 30 days sell the land on which the pork market sits as well as other properties belonging to Ishaka-Bushenyi Municipality so as to pay a Shs 187m debt to Mafred Muhumuza.
