BREAKING NEWS: UGANDA ARMY ARRESTS ITS COMMANDER AFTER MAKERERE UNIVERSITY VIOLENCE CONDEMNATION

Uganda People’s Defence Forces has arrested an army captain attached to the military police in Kampala for allegedly presiding over brutality and committing crimes at Makerere University.

Captain Ronald Lubeera has been arrested and colleagues after several voices in the diplomatic community, parliament came out over the matter.

“The Army has arrested Capt.Richard Lubeere the Military Police commander who was in charge of the forces that committed crimes on students inside Makerere University. A committee to investigate the matter has been set up, headed by Lt.Col. Richard Okumu”.

European Union has issued a statement telling security to refrain from acts of violence and respect freedom of assembly and expression.
