Barbie Itungo Kyagulanyi wife to Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi aka Bobiwine has appealed to supporters of her husband to stop pushing for tribalism. This comes after riots spread in some parts of the country with supporters of NUP asking for release of their Presidential Candidate who was arrested.

“Bambi, Ugandans let’s not preach this hatred of tribalism . We are all on same trap of rescuing the country . Please with my sincere request let’s not preach tribalism”, Barbie Kyagulanyi tweeted

The alleged supporters of NUP reacted differently by burning tyres on different roads, attacked supporters of NRM, some scene snatching bags, extorting money through illegal roadblocks, breaking people’s cars, burning government vehicles and others.

The actions of rioters attracted security agencies to deploy heavily leading to running battles that have resulted in loss of life, injuries and damage to property.

Rioters and their social media supporters are saying the law is not being applied to all. They oppose arresting of Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi yet fellow singer Moses Ssali aka Bebe Cool organized some rallies.

The Ministry of Health has updated Standard Operating Procedures of Covid19 pandemic to 200 people gathered in one area as longer as there is social distance, washing hands and putting on masks.

The opposition accuses NRM for not following SOPs in their primary elections which included lining up.

Most people have spoken against those pushing for tribalism saying that will not make Kyagulanyi a national leader. They say no struggle can succeed by burning people’s properties.
