By Pascal Niwebyona
The Minister of State for Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan Affairs Hon. Kabuye Kyoffatogabye has challenged groups and residents to rise up to their civic duty and build roads in their communities.

He said groups can pool materials and other resources to open up and maintain relevant roads and footpaths in their neighborhoods.

Hon Kyoffatogabye said that city and other local government authorities can only be lured to take up the construction and maintenance of roads that have been developed to some standard.

He was on 24/01/2026 officiating at the Annual General Meeting of Team Solidarity Investment Club held at Queen of Martyrs SS, Kigoma.

The Minister said that it was depressing for elites to be seen smartly dressed and driving big vehicles on bushy and gullied roads.

“Your community roads should reflect your status”, he counselled.

Hon Kyoffatogabye who is also the Patron of the association, commended members of Team Solidarity for coming together to form an investment club.

He appealed to members to continue saving for the future.

“Money understands one language: Save me today, I will save you tomorrow”, he counselled.

The Chairperson of Team Solidarity Dr Zenus Byomugisha, revealed that the association had in one year saved UGX 63m and that they have a decade target of UGX 4bn.

He appealed to members to learn the norms and culture of their association so that they thrive in it.

The meeting resolved that each member contributes UGX 600,000 to cater for bereavement and other emergencies in the ten year saving period.
