The Arua Regional Blood Bank will coordinate blood collection, processing and distribution in West Nile and reduce blood shortages, Dr Diana Steiner, the permanent secretary of the ministry of health has said.
The Laboratory is a vital healthcare institution dedicated to ensuring the safety and availability of blood transfusions in the region.
It is one of the three regional blood banks as part of the national blood transfusion services according to Dr Godfrey Senonjo, the regional manager.
Dr Senonjo declined further comments insisting the any disclosures about their operations is a preserve for the spokesman of the national blood transfusion services.
However available information indicates that the bloid bank plays a crucial role in the collection, testing, and distribution of blood and blood products, contributing significantly to public health initiatives.

It conducts comprehensive testing for various infectious diseases, including HIV, Hepatitis C, and Hepatitis B, thereby safeguarding the health of patients who rely on transfusions.
